Random Pics

This post if full of random pictures from the last month or so. No rhyme or reason to it.

Most of you know that my dad got a new dog. Her name is Belle and everyone is smitten with her. I think this pic is funny. It looks like Caleb is telling her to be quiet.

Could Ethan look anymore NOT like me? I really do see myself a lot in him from when I was his age. But comparing us in this picture we don't look a thing alike! Oh, how I long for his skin color!!

I thought this was cute of the kids. Belle actually fell asleep in Ethan's lap.

Ethan breakdancing at my mom's.

Doing important Batman things. He already had the cape and the computer and his "seatbelt" as he calls it. Nana bought the mask...now the ensamble is complete!

He was so cute walking around in these house shoes!

Ethan decided to help his brother eat yogurt.
Caleb decided he could do it himself.

"Cheese!" Yummy...beefaroni/yogurt face.

Here's what we do when we're bored...we bake! Ethan loved making the different shapes and colors.

Caitlin and Caleb then...
Caitlin and Caleb now! They grow so fast!!

Just hanging out in mommy's room.

Look, a decent picture of the mommy and the daddy!

Casa de Hernandez. Mondo works so hard on that yard! Shutters and painting to come!...some day.

This is how I get dinner cooked most days. I let Caleb destroy the kitchen. Most of the cabinets have locks but I haven't got to this drawer yet.

Oh look, another picture of the happy couple!

Yep, those are my earplugs in his ears...and his nose. And yes, he shoots them out of his nose and thinks it's hilarious. It probably doesn't help that I laugh when he does it.

Jamming to the Wiggles.

Caleb was grooving to the Wiggles too.

Uh, when did he get so big???

Mr. Mischievious.

Daddy and Ethan.

What an angelic face!

I love that expression! "Yep, I clean up pretty good."

Chocolate cupcake batter faced Spiderman.

He loves wearing random things as hats.

We went for a walk one night after playing in the backyard. When we got back to the driveway I turned around to see this. Poor little critter! I actually took him inside, changed him into pj's, and put him in his bed and he never woke up!

Hawaiian Falls

Thanks to Summer for the pictures for this post! I only had my cell phone for pics. We went to Hawaiian Falls in Mansfield a few days ago. Ethan hadn't been to a waterpark since I was pregnant with Caleb. It usually isn't worth it because Ethan won't go down any of the slides. I decided to take him since it was the end of the summer and I wanted to do one last fun thing for him. I was suprised that he went down a big slide as soon as we got there! He tried another one and decided it was his favorite and wouldn't ride anything else but that one. I decided not to push him to ride anything else because I wanted a nice relaxing day with no whining! We didn't even go in the wave pool or the lazy river. Just sliding....
Ethan and Will. That slide in the background is the first one he went down. I was shocked! It's one that you lay down on the mat and ride down on your stomach. He grabbed a mat and walked up the stairs and went down. I was in the lane next to him. I asked him if he liked it and he said yes but that he didn't want to do it again. I would have never thought he would ride that one!
We had hotdogs and chips for lunch.

This was the slide he was obsessed with. I think he liked that it didn't drop him into a pool. He could just stand up when he got to the bottom. He probably went down this 30 or 40 times. As soon as he go to the bottom, he would get out and go climb back up the stairs. It was exhausting!

Look how proud he is of himself...and I was proud too!

The Sickos

We have had sickness at our house this week. Caleb felt hot on Tuesday night and was a little cranky so I checked his temp and it was 101! He didn't sleep well during the night and woke up with 101 again but no other symptoms. He was drooling a little so I thought maybe he was getting a new molar but his temp was a little high for that. That same morning Ethan said his ear was hurting. It was the third day in a row that he mentioned it so I thought I better go get it checked out.

We went to the pedi Wednesday afternoon. The pedi gave me the gold star for guessing what was wrong with him: swimmer's ear. I didn't think it was an infection because he hadn't been sick and he didn't seem to be in much pain. While we were there I mentioned that Caleb developed a fever the night before so she checked him out too. The only thing she saw was that his throat was red. She said there was a virus going around that involved fever and a sore throat. So we left the doctor's office with a prescription for ear drops for Ethan and she told him no swimming for 5 days. Bummer.

5 minutes after the first dose of ear drops Ethan said his ear was better. Little turkey. But every time he talked to someone he told them he was sick. He needed some of the sympathy his brother was getting.

Caleb had fever and crankiness through Friday night. His fever was finally gone on Saturday and he ate pretty well but still had cranky periods off and on.

I was just thinking the other day that the kids hadn't been sick in a long time. I guess I spoke too soon! But, I'm glad that they are feeling better and they weren't horribly sick for too long! Cranky kids = cranky parents and long nights.

Summer Fun!

We have had a lot of fun this summer trying to beat the heat! There are a million pictures on this post because I loved so many of them! We have spent many days in the backyard keeping cool in the blowup pool, slip and slide, and water table. These pics are from the entire summer.

He LOVES the water table! It hardly stays clean for long. He fills it with dirt and sticks.
Taking a big gulp!

He is "cleaning" it out. I think it's a little beyond a pool skimmer.

He stands in it and crosses over from one side to the other.

This is one of Ethan's favorite activities. Caleb runs all over the yard while Ethan sprays him and they both laugh hysterically.

So funny!

He looks so old in this picture.

It was a wee bit cold coming out at first. Then he started shooting webs in it.

The fire hydrant was open several times this summer. Ethan LOVES to go out there and play. It was difficult to chase both of them in opposite directions while watching for cars. Whew!

He had to go inside and get some "guys" to play with.

Ethan styled Caleb's hair.

Finished product.

He wasn't as excited about the water as Ethan was.

He had to creep up on it.
Shooting webs at the water.

Charge!

More web slinging action.

Lounging at the beach.

The slip and slide has been oh so fun. They don't really slide on it like they're supposed to. Caleb walks up and down it and drinks the water as it sprays out.

I thought his face was funny in this picture.
He finally dove in!
This is pretty much what Caleb does the whole time.

Chilling in the pool. Best $10 I ever spent!

Caleb "swimming".

Cannon ball!

They both splash and splash while laughing hysterically.

One night Colton came over and they got to eat outside by themselves. Awww...
