Vacation #2

After many different vacation destination choices, and for many different reasons, we chose good old San Antonio again. We stayed at the JW Marriott in the Hill Country. It was about 30 minutes from downtown so it didn't really feel like we were in San Antonio. The hotel reminded me of the Gaylord. It was much bigger than the one we stayed in last May. It had a huge convention center, spa, several restaurants, and a mini waterpark. The water features were the main reason we stayed there.

The room was nice. It was your basic hotel room. I did miss the last hotel we stayed at because it had a kitchen and living area which is much easier with little kids.

This was the view from our room. This is just part of the pool area. It was huge! And the best part was that there were life guards. I guess with a place that big they have to have them.

Partial view of the bathroom. There was also a bathtub on the other side but my guys like showers.
The AWESOME kiddie pool! This is where we spent most of our time.

Playing in the fountains.

I was suprised he stood there and let the water fall on his head!

Ethan taking care of his little brother. He is such a good big brother...when he wants to be. :-)

Time for a cookie break!

If you aim these guns at the targets it pours water on the people floating by in the lazy river. Lucky for these people Caleb doesn't have a great aim yet.
Who knew fountains could be so fun?

Ethan loved this tube ride. You can see to the left. It's a pretty short slide but it's pretty fast and you slide up and down the sides like a bobsled on your way down. It spits you out into this pool. You can either get out or go down that little slide into the lazy river.

An arial view from the top of a slide.

One of the few pics we got out of a million georgeous spots. The kids weren't in the mood for pics on this trip. :-)

We had dinner at BJ's one night. Caleb must have been missing his toys because he was playing with a Sweet 'N Low packet like it was one of his guys.

The arcade inside the hotel.

The pool at night. This was the view from our room.

Day two...who wants to swim??

We made them do one pose on the way to the pool.
My three favorite boys. :-)

Caleb enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the hotel. He was glad to see Cheerios.

Ethan appeared to enjoy his breakfast...but only had a few bites. He was ready to swim!

There was a bar/restaurant called "High Velocity". We only stopped in for a picture. This wasn't the trip to hang out at High Velocity. :-)

Private cabanas at the big pool.

It was a little bright.

Caleb floated all over that big pool.

Oh look...I was on this trip!

These were cool. They were like giant i-phones. The water moved every time he touched the screen.

Ethan and I played checkers.

A side view of one of the slides.

The boys wrestling in the kiddie pool. They did this for hours!

Sitting on a big fish.

Fountain fun.

Another water feature where you pump the handle up and down and water shoots out at the people in the lazy river. (He looks like he hit his head but it was just bright.)

They even enjoyed this tiny slide.

The end of two tube slides.
The infinite pool...for adults only. We didn't get to visit that one.

Making smores is always a must!
Both boys love to roast the marshmallows but they only eat the uncooked ones.

He's a pro.

After smores we went hunting for some photo op sites...this is as far as we got. Take a look at that face...no more pics that night. They were a little tired.
We did a little shopping in the outlet malls on our way back home. What did we end up with? Toys of course! We held our ground at the Disney Store and only bought one thing for each of them. Ethan chose Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb. Caleb chose Zurg...that was a no brainer!
We made a stop at the Capitol. We tried to explain what it was to Ethan. I ended up telling him that it was a building where important guys made really important decisions for our state. Mondo asked him if he wanted to be congressman. He said, "No, I want to be a police man so I can get the bad guys and put hand lockers on them." Ok...

Cool view.

Ethan loved it. He wished it was a hotel so he could stay the night. He asked if there were rooms there to sleep. Caleb wasn't as impressed.
We didn't know who this guy was but Ethan wanted his picture taken with him.
Caleb is thinking: "Seriously...it's time to go."

Daddy and Ethan.

Mommy and the boys.

See who else is on that cannon besides Ethan? (Hint: He's from Toy Story.)

The poor boys were frying during this picture. I think it was 107 that day!

All tuckered out. Look at those sweet hands.

Ethan and Perry taking a nap.

Here's a short video of the boys on the water slide in the kiddie pool. The did this for hours!
