Ski Trip Part 1

Over spring break we went to Colorado to go skiing with our church. We broke up the trip there into 2 days. We drove about 9 hours then stayed overnight in a hotel then drove the remaining 4ish hours to Crested Butte. It was a long drive but the boys did great! They're very good travellers. :-)

This is his "are we there yet" face...and we hadn't even been driving that long!

Sleepy eyes and in his pj's. We took them out of bed early in the morning to start our drive.

We made it to our first destination! I want to say we stayed in Pueblo, Co....I'm pretty sure that was the town. We found a beautiful river for the kids to play around and take a great nature walk!

Caleb and Maddie.

Mondo and the boys ventured out on a stick and gave me a heart attack.

Throwing rocks.

Those two.... :-)

The next morning we took a scenic way toward Crested Butte.  There were lots of little creeks/rivers between the mountains.

We made it! That's our hotel called Elevation. (fitting name)

That night we went to dinner with a big group. The kids had a great time.
This crew thought they were big stuff being able to sit alone.

This year we decided to put both kids in ski school. It worked out great because it was a full day so Mondo and I were able to ski alone for the first day. :-) Ethan had a great time but I heard Caleb was looking for me. I didn't check on him at all on purpose because I knew if he saw me he would want to leave.

They used this little conveyer belt to pull the kids up the little hill then they would ski back down. It was more of a slope than a hill.

Yep, this is pretty much the attitude I got when I picked him up. Haha! He was exhausted and had no interest in helping me carry his skis up the LONG hill to get back to the hotel. He was DONE. And I was too by the time we got back!

That's my ski boot. Just chillaxin on top of a mountain.

Me and my love on our ski day together. :-)

Snow!

Usually we're lucky enough to get snow once a year in Texas. And boy did we really get it this year! Mondo and I went to an early lunch fairly close to home and it was already pretty snowy. But then it started coming down hard. We had barely ordered our food and the school called and said they were cancelling all classes. We finished up our lunch and headed out to get them.

The roads were pretty bad. They really should've cancelled school that morning. Thankfully we live down the street from school but other people had a pretty far drive in the snow to get their kids.

Squeaker was unsure of the snow situation.

The kids were super excited to come home and play in the snow! That's Ethan all decked out in his snow gear.

Caleb made lots of snow angels.

Mondo stayed home from work too since his job requires driving all over the metroplex. It was definitely unsafe for him to drive!

The boys had a great time playing in the snow with Daddy and pegging each other with snow balls.

Refueling with some hot chocolate.

Our snowy casa. :-)

Great Wolf Lodge

We took the kids out of school for one day to go to Great Wolf Lodge. Yes, we are those parents who take their kids out of school to vacation. ;-) We went with the kid's besties Tyler and Maddie. It was nice for them to have someone to ride slides with...especially since Momma doesn't really like it. I'm not a thrill seeker.

We love Great Wolf Lodge!

Ethan and Tyler

Caleb and Maddie having snack time.

They love standing under the big water bucket and letting the water dump on them.

Being silly.

Enjoying a delicious smoothie.

They played on this a lot.

He tried and tried to pull himself up on this floaty log so he was so excited when he finally did it!

You can't really see them but Caleb and Maddie just got destroyed by a wave.

There's Caleb floating by himself. He LOVES the lazy river!
