Destin - Part 4

Lunch by the beach....again.

For dinner we went to a fun Irish pub called McGuire's.  Their main attraction is that you can donate a dollar bill by signing it and stapling it anywhere in the restaurant.  The place was COVERED in money!  The waitress said there was over 1 million dollars on walls, ceiling, etc.

Ethan signing his name.

Caleb "signing" his name.

Stapling it to the wall by our booth.  We hope to return some day and see if it's still there!

For our last day we decided to go to another secluded beach.  We ended up spending most of the day on the sand and not in the water.  Ethan cried when we left because he didn't want to leave.  I got into a new hobby of sand sculpting.  I made this alligator for Caleb.  You can't tell from the pic but it was longer than him!

Ethan and Mondo worked on this hole for hours.

Mondo built a fort of sand around the hole so the water couldn't get in.

Of course Caleb needed a hole too.
I had to get out of the sun because I was turning into a lobster but it was too windy to use the umbrella.  So Mondo buried me in the sand.  It felt great...except for the fact that I could hardly breathe!

Mondo and Ethan had to play some golf while we were there.  Caleb and I spent some time going to McDonald's and shopping.

After our last dinner we found a yummy chocolate shop.  Ethan chose a chocolate covered rice crispy treat.

Out of all of the expensive chocolate choices, Caleb chose a little $0.25 chocolate heart...and posed himself.  So cute!!

Destin - Part 3

We had a little family photo shoot on the beach.  I'm bummed that we didn't ask anyone to take a pic of the 4 of us!  I was really happy with the pictures.  And I miss my tan.  :-(  This post is nothing but pictures.

Destin - Part 2

We decided to go to a more secluded beach on our second day.  We drove about 15 minutes down the road and found a great spot!

I'm shocked he was still enough to be buried.

Mondo and Ethan played a little sand football.

It threatened rain for a while...then it poured on us.  We waited it out and hid under our umbrella.  It passed after about 5 minutes.

They were trying to catch little fish in their nets.  They were unsuccessful.

Bologna on the beach.  Yum.

That evening we got all cleaned up and headed out to eat at a fun restaurant!

Fuddpuckers is a must eat at place if you're in Destin with kids.  It has a small gator beach in the middle of it.  You can feed the gators with a fishing pole (for a small fee of course).  Lucky for us the kids were content to just watch.  I was super bummed that it was still rainy.  Most of the fun stuff is outside and we were getting rained on.  We snapped a few pics when it briefly stopped.  Caleb was sad that he didn't get to play on the playground.  *Note:  It gets SUPER crowded so expect at least an hour wait.  We went around 4pm and I think our wait was 45mins.  The time passed quickly with all that there was to see.  But when we left it was PACKED and I think the wait was at least 2 hours!!

Caleb loves gators...or crocodiles as he calls them.  He was in heaven!

Here's the gator "beach".  I was a little disappointed that the gators were more like overgrown lizards.  They were babies.

It was pretty exciting to get to hold a real gator!  Caleb didn't keep a good grip on his tale and he started thrashing around.  Good thing Ethan had a death grip on his head.  (This is a picture of a picture.)

Ethan eating some more fish.  And he had popcorn shrimp for an appetizer!

After dinner we headed over to a shopping center to walk around.  This was outside of Bass Pro.

So then we had to go inside to see the fish.  The kids refer to Bass Pro as the "fish store."

Love this pic!  They were nose to nose!

We stopped for ice cream on our way back to the condo.

Then it was time for crabbing!  We snuck around with flashlights and found tiny white crabs.  The kids would scoop them up, check them out, the let them go.  It was one of Caleb's favorite parts about our trip.
Got one!

***That's all for now.  More to come!***
