LTC!

We had another successful year at LTC. Ethan did puppets, signing, drama, and chorus. He was a busy guy! It makes my heart so happy to see him in LTC every year just like I did at his age. And after Caleb watched this year he said he couldn't wait to do LTC too! (It starts in 3rd grade.)

We watched a few puppet shows while we were killing time between events. Caleb thought it was hysterical!

Ethan's puppet team was good...but they needed a bit more practice. ;-) It was funny to watch the younger age groups like his and their puppets would barely get their face over the stage or their mouth would sit wide open and not moving while they talked.

His puppet team.

Ethan's main role was a talking super hero paper bag. It was definitely an interesting story line!

Signing a song. Always my favorite to watch...and tear up at every time.

Will and Ethan.

Gray and Ethan...they're only a year apart! But Gray gets his height from his momma. ;-)

Large chorus. They were so good! Of course this makes me cry too...

Drama was new for him this year. I was honestly surprised that they were pretty good. Of course Ethan was pumped to get to wear camo...and his daddy's huge boots.

His drama group. Great group of kids!

Meet Smokey

You may remember from several years back that Ethan had a hamster. It met an untimely demise and was replaced...more than once...with a look a like. I finally decided that he wasn't old enough to care for one. Fast forward several years and he finally talked me into another one. He wanted a pet of his own to take care of. So...meet Smokey! He bought her and the cage/accessories with his own money.

She really is the sweetest little hamster...and I've had a LOT of them in my day!

Ethan's crazy after school hair.

Can't handle the cuteness! Such a sweet and gentle little thing.

Squeaker was quite intrigued by her. They seemed to get along. She would just sit and stare at her.

...until we left the house and didn't shut Ethan's door. We came home to find this crime scene. Poor Ethan was sobbing and cursing the poor cat who was just trying to get a closer look at the hammie.  I can't believe it but I found little Smokey under the entertainment center in the living room completely unharmed...except for the minor heart attack she probably had. Ethan's door is now closed any time we leave the house. Who's idea was it to get a hamster when we already had a cat?! ;-)

Open House

We went to Open House for 1st and 4th grade. The boys were excited to show us what they had been working on. They wanted to make sure we saw all of their teachers...home room, math, reading, art, PE, music...that's a lot of people to meet! ;-)

Ethan had a brief obsession with Davy Crockett. He watched some movies at Nana and Papa's house and I think that's what spurred it on. He was excited to write a little paper about him at school!

1st grade classroom with Ms. Gaines.

One of the things I love about our school? We can walk there. :-)

Caleb's Field 1st Grade Field Trip

I was super excited to hear that Caleb was taking a different 1st grade field trip than Ethan did. Ethan went to the Ft. Worth Children's Museum and it was the most stressful trip to chaperone! Caleb's field trip was to UTA to see The Little Mermaid musical and then to a park for lunch. Much better!

Getting ready to head to the bus to go to UTA! (Mommy's college)

The musical was good but he thought it was lame...because it was a "girl show".

Love field trips that end at the park. So easy!

Got to share a lunch with this guy. It was a great and simple field trip! :-)

Ski Trip Part 2

The boys both spent one full day in ski school. They did pretty well but probably could've used one more day...but Caleb decided he was done. I took Ethan up on the mountain alone (yikes) while Mondo stayed at the bottom and worked with Caleb. Caleb did enjoy it a little but he decided he would rather just play in the snow or inside with his friends. So Mondo, Ethan and I skiied the rest of the day while Caleb stayed in the hotel with some friends.

My big guy getting ready to head down some slopes. :-)

That's my ski boot. Just hanging out on top of a mountain having some lunch.
Getting some ski time in with my man. :-)

There was a great area on the bottom floor of the hotel where the kids loved to hang out. There was an Xbox and board games.

Ethan enjoyed a chocolate covered waffle...so good!

Ethan did some entertaining on the piano playing the one song he knows....over and over and over....

My souvenir. I had coffee from this little coffee shop every day we were there. So good!

Caleb did some entertaining too.

Headed into town for some dinner.

Our whole church skiing crew!

We took a few scenic pics the night before we left.

So long Crested Butte! We had a great time!
