Camping Trip

Before it got too hot, we took a little camping trip with our friends Mike and Traci.  We went to Joe Pool Lake and had a great time!!

It was SO WINDY down by the water.  It was also a little chilly but the kids had a great time playing in the water.  I got them to pose nicely with a promise of a silly pic after.

Here's the silly pic. :-)

They worked for over an hour to build a trench from the middle of the "beach" to the water.  It was pretty impressive!

Look at that!

Then we went back to the campsite for some bike riding and dinner.

Bologna sandwhiches even in the wild. ;-)

Waiting to make smores!

We slept in a tent but our friends had a pop up camper.  The boys hung out in there for a while and watched a movie then came to our tent to sleep.  We had a great time camping and can't wait to go again when the weather gets nice!

Caleb's First Field Trip

Caleb was so excited to go on his first field trip in kindergarten.  We went to a park and then to a petting zoo.  I knew what to expect because I did the same trip with Ethan a few years before. :-)

It's always so hard to send the little critters on the bus for the first time! :-/

Half of the group went to the petting zoo first and the other half played on the playground.

Selfie with Mommy.  The wind was pretty crazy!

He got to pet a rabbit....

...and a goat...

...and a pig.  And a few other animals that I didn't take pics of.

He pumped water.
Lunch time!

His class.

Hanging up some towels to dry the old fashioned way.

Hanging out with some cows.

When they got back to school they had watermelon and popsicles!

We had a fun day together!

Ethan's First LTC

It was shocking for me to have a child old enough to be in LTC! (Leadership Training for Christ)  It is a program at church done every Spring to teach the kids how to grow in Christ by doing song leading, speeches, Bible reading, puppets, drama, etc.  I loved doing it every year.  It is 3rd-12th grade so it was Ethan's first time to do it.  He chose to do Bible reading, chorus, and sign language.  We were so proud of him and all of the hard work he did in the months before the event.

His friend Gray.  And yes, he really is that tall! (He's only a year older than Ethan.)

Hanging out with some friends before his next event.

Loved hearing the chorus sing!  They did great!

Caleb was along for the ride of course. ;-)

His friend Will.

Signing the song "I am a Sheep".  It was amazing to watch him sign a whole song!

He had been growing out his hair and refused to cut it.  But after a weekend of trying to tame it over and over for each event and it getting so wild I had had enough.  We got it cut on the way home!

Easter

This post is all about our Easter festivities at school, church, and Aunt Nita's.

Caleb had an Easter egg hunt at school.  It's nice to still be little and get to do things like that.  Ethan's class didn't do anything exciting for Easter.  Caleb is smiling in this pic it was just sunny so he's making a crazy face. ;-)

His buddy Brock.

His whole class. :-)
Easter baskets for Easter morning.

Caleb's bestie Maddie.

Ethan's bestie Tyler.

This is what happens when you try to force a bluebonnet pic on a sunny day. :-/

Family photo in Aunt Nita's backyard.
Caleb enjoyed a scrumptious meal of...mac and cheese.

I took over the bunny cake this year because Mom was recovering from knee surgery.  I don't know why I tried so hard to make the cake perfect and smooth because I knew what was coming next...

Yep, my perfect bunny cake is under there somewhere. Maybe we need to try to tame it down the next year.

A little egg hunting.

I think this might have been Ethan's last year to hunt eggs.  Makes me sad! :-(

My beautiful nieces Morgan and Madilyn.

All of the grandcritters. :-)
