Moving Day :-(

As I mentioned in a previous post...we decided to move! I say it like it was such a flippant decision but it was anything but! We (well more me) agonized over it for weeks before finally deciding to take the plunge. This was my forever house and I had no intentions of moving...ever. But, with the decision to go to FWC in N. Richland Hills we decided it would be best to make the move to be close to the school. Moving day was bittersweet. On the one hand it was exciting to begin a new chapter but on the other it was so horrible to leave behind our house where we raised our babies. It was a sad, sad day.

After all of the prep it was finally moving day. Eek!

Caleb tore our hearts out even more. He literally hugged every wall and said goodbye to every room.

Ugh.

Another sad moment? Walking away from the boys rooms with their measurements inside the door. :-( :-( :-(

Since we're building a new house, we had to put EVERYTHING in storage. It was a tight fit but we made it work!

So long Nottingham. We will miss you more than you know. Tears were shed by all. Lots and LOTS of tears. I can't even drive by it anymore. Too sad. I know (well...hope) that when our new house is complete we will be able to close the chapter to our old house. So many memories we hold dear from that place. It was a great 10 years. :-)

NICU Reunion/Halloween

We had our annual NICU Reunion in October. We had a great time seeing all of our tiny babies growing and thriving!

Of course I had to make cupcakes for the occasion.

I didn't get many pics since I was busy playing with the babies...but here is one of our room all decorated.

Every year I paint a tree and have the babies/kids put their fingerprint on it as the leaves. So cute!

Some of our NICU nurses...all night shift. My peeps! ;-)

On to Halloween....

Ethan was James Bond and Caleb was Nightwing.

In their special poses...
I joined in on the action too.

At every house people asked Ethan if he just came from a wedding. Haha! Guess he should've pulled out the gun then maybe they would know...maybe not.

Looks like my boys must be growing up...I seem to take less and less pics at the holidays. I need to get better at that again!

Homecoming

I was very surprised that I had a child old enough to be involved in homecoming! I had no idea that middle schoolers participated. Ethan came home from school one day and said he needed Aunt Ree to make a mum for a girl. What the?! How did this day get here so fast? Anywho...We got the mum and garter taken care of. Then it was a whole week of activities at school. It was a fun first time experience!

Ethan's garter. See the little golf bear? :-)

My sister made the mum. She's so talented!

Ethan and his friend before the pep rally.

There's Ethan on the floor with his friends.

Several of the football players dressed up like cheerleaders and performed. It was hilarious!

Ethan with some of his friends with their fingers linked during the school song. Love it!

There's Caleb in the orange watching the homecoming parade.

Our mascot...the cardinal!

Some of the football players.

He was so excited to get his picture with the mascot. :-)

Jersey day.
Crazy hair day.

80s shirt day.

Pink out day.

New School

Ethan had one more year left of school before he would go to middle school. I wasn't a big fan of where he was going to go. I spent countless hours researching different option. Looked at transferring to another school in the district, charter schools, private schools. We took several tours of different schools. But then we walked into Ft. Worth Christian. After we were done with the tour Mondo and I went to lunch and both looked at each other and just knew. We said it felt like home. Just felt right. We also at the same time decided to move our entire life to N. Richland Hills since that's where the school is...but that's another post. ;-)

First day of 6th and 3rd grade at FWC!

Caleb's locker outside of his class.

Each kids has a different scripture under their name. I just love it. :-)

During the second week of school Ethan got to go on a retreat to Camp Thurman! We all know he's an old pro at that place so he was super excited to get to go...and especially because it took up the whole school day!

The entire middle school.

A little small group time.

They get to wear they're "Cardinal Red" tshirts every Friday.

After the first few weeks of school there was an elementary school "Sock Hop" for Caleb. He had a great time!

Playing with the balloons was the highlight for most of the kids. :-)

Caleb did a little limbo.

I was able to go to a few of the Friday night football games. So fun! They kids run around with their friends the whole time.

It made me nostalgic for when I used to be in drill team and spent Friday nights at the games.
