Camp Thurman

The week after we came back from the company trip was Camp Thurman week! The boys can't wait for camp every year. It's the highlight of the summer. Camp Thurman is a Christian camp where they get to do archery, ropes courses, swimming, zip lines, etc. And of course there's some devos and singing thrown in there too. ;-)

Ethan with his buddy Colton and some of Colton's friends.

Caleb and his bud Carson.

Luckily the camp posts pics after their sesson is over so I am able to see a little of what they do!  Caleb LOVES the zip line!

Camp Thurman rocks! :-)

Company Trip to Lake Tahoe

I'm always happy to reap the benefits of Mondo's company trips. :-) This year we went to Lake Tahoe. Neither one of us had been there before so we were pretty excited to go. Although we hated leaving the kids. It's always nice to get away alone but those critters are always in the back of our mind. But they had a great time at Nana and Papa's while we were gone.

The only lake I've been to is Joe Pool lake...and it's gross brown lake water. That's how I pictured every lake in America. Seriously. So you can imagine how stunned I was to see Lake Tahoe!  It was beautiful! I felt like we were at the beach...well...a cold beach.  The weather was in the 50s and 60s during the day.

This beach was part of our hotel.

This was the walk from our hotel to a restaurant across the street that was part of the hotel.

There were tons of these birds around the hotel. I'd never seen them before and thought they were pretty cool!

The view from our hotel room. We didn't get in the pools but we did get in the hot tub.

We sat around this fire pit at the "beach" a lot and relaxed.

That's me in the hot tub. :-)

My souvenir. :-)

We took a shuttle down to another area of the lake and it was so beautiful! Looked like scenes on a post card. It has definitely changed my view of lakes!

It was in the upper 60s that day and people we in the water swimming. Maybe they're used to it. They're nuts!

Of course Mondo had to play golf while we were there. He played with some co-workers and he said the course was beautiful. I decided to sleep in and didn't go with him like I did last year. I also had a massage. It was wonderful. :-)

When we ate lunch at a little restaurant at the lake there were friendly squirrels everywhere. They would come right up to the table and beg for food.

I fed this little guy french fries. He kept stuffing them in his cheeks and begging for more.

Smores by the firepit!

The last night we were there was a celebration party. There was a huge buffet and a DJ. We had fun hanging out with his co-workers that he only sees once or twice a year since they're from all over the US.

This pic was from the night of the awards dinner when he got his pin for reaching a certain level in the company.

End of School Parties

I helped out with both boys end of school parties....outside...in the heat. I was happy to be able to be there for him but I sure was happy to go home to some air conditioning when it was all over! ;-)

One of Ethan's sections was a sports center.

I was in charge of a Minute to Win It game where they tied an empty kleenex box around their waist then filled it with ping pong balls. Then they had to shake their booties until all of the balls fell out. It was pretty wild and there were some ripped up boxes...good thing I brough my duct tape! ;-)

Thankfully we had a snow cone stand. Here's Caleb enjoying a cold treat.

This was a simple game but it was a lot of fun. We filled a bucket full of water then used a ladel to transport water from that bucket to another bucket several feet away. It took a long time and a lot of cheering. ;-)

Caleb is sporting his new sunglasses that they decorated and munching on a watermelon slice.

1st and 5th Grade Award Ceremony

At the end of the school year there is an award ceremony for each grade. The kids are awarded on things like perfect attendance (my kids never get that one!), citizenship, reading logs, and art projects.

Caleb's was first. Of course he looked scared and wouldn't make eye contact. So my child. ;-) That's his teacher Ms. Gaines giving him his awards.

His class.

I worked the night before so I came half asleep and in my scrubs.

Next up, Ethan receiving awards from his teacher Ms. Underwood.
