Mother's Day

Mother's Day came early for me this year.  I came out of the shower on Saturday to get ready for work and found flowers...and a Kindle Fire waiting for me by my make-up!  I was STUNNED!  Mondo and the kids bought it that day and the kids were going to tell me about it so he gave it to me early.  Then on Mother's Day we went to church, went to Mom's for lunch, then headed to Southlake to do some shopping and have dinner.  I had a great day just spending time with my critters.  :-)

All dressed for church.  I wish I was as brown as they are!

My goodies.

Oh how this makes me smile.  It's a coaster he made at church.  It looks like a little mug shot.  ;-)

Ethan made this magnet at school.  Apparently he thinks he's pretty dark.

He also made me a coupon book.  This one says "no video games".  I doubt I can ever really redeem these.  Funny story:  That morning after church Ethan was being really whiney.  I told him all I wanted for Mother's Day was a day of no whining!  Very seriously he responded, "That's not one of my coupons."  Haha!!

"No fighting all day"

"Breakfast in bed"

"Feed the dog"

Field Day

Ethan was so excited for Field Day and I was excited that I was able to be there!  Mondo came too and Caleb was at school.  The kids chose three events to participate in.  Ethan chose the softball throw, 75 yard dash, and egg relay.  After it was over we stayed for 2 additional hours to help pass out drinks and food.  It was a fun day!

This was the softball throw.  He got 3rd place!  First and second place went to his fellow baseball players so that was pretty cool!
Ethan, Will, and Bryce.

The softball throwers.

The 75 yard dash.  He came in 4th.

Egg relay.  Luckily they used wooden eggs or that field would've been pretty messy!

The last event involved the whole class.  Each class lined up and held hands.  Then they had to pass a hula hoop down the line without breaking the chain.  They had to step through it and pull it over their heads.  I didn't think they could do it but they made it look easy and Ethan's class won!

That's Ethan in the green pulling it over his head.

A Camping We Will Go...

We went on a camping excursion to White Bluff on Lake Whitney a few weeks ago with the Joyce's.  The timing was great because it wasn't too hot.  Actually, it got a little nippy at night.  The kids played great together and were sad to leave.  I was ready to take a real shower and sleep in my own bed.  We slept in a tent but our friends had a giant RV.  I wish I would've taken a picture of the difference in how we camp.  It was a bit comical.  We had our tent right next to their GIANT movie star looking camper.

This huge tree provided us with some great shade.  The boys loved to climb in it.

Ethan and Tyler.

Caleb thought he wanted to climb it but quickly changed his mind once he was in it.  I'm glad he was wearing a helmet!

There were several swimming pools which made me happy.  I don't get in water I can't see through.  Here is Tyler and Ethan with big hunks of watermelon crammed in their mouth.

Not the greatest group shot...

A view of the lake.

I love this picture!  Sun in their hair, wind in their face.

Testing the water...yuck.

Luckily Caleb didn't want to get in.  He just waded at the shore.

They worked so hard to dig this stick out of the water.  You could only see the tip of it from the shore.  They pulled and pulled and drug it out!

This picture melts my heart.  Aunt Lou was with us on our trip.  ;-)

Little diva Maddie.

Thank you PaPa for letting us borrow your truck!  Maddie and Caleb practically lived in it!

Of course we had to play some baseball.

This was our favorite pool.  The water was so cold.  I don't know how they swam in it!

I think they were being superheroes.

All of that camping makes a boy tired!

We found this cool spaceship on the way home.  I think it used to be some type of shop.  The kids thought it was awesome.
