"Spidaman" and Potty Training Fun

This is him being "Spidaman" (that what he calls him). He has his new underwear on underneath.

Chocolate chip cookie batter that he helped make...and eat.

Driving the car in the Target parking lot. This was after he threw up from a coughing fit right when we got there. Mondo went in and did the fastest shopping trip ever (15 minutes) while I stayed in the car with Ethan since he had throw up on his clothes and shoes.

Ethan has somehow gotten into Spiderman. He's never watched it but every time he sees it he freaks out. We bought him some Spiderman pj's and underwear. Everytime he wears them he says "I'm Spidaman. I climb the wall!" He then proceeds to attempt to climb whatever wall he is near and seems suprised that he doesn't get anywhere. As for the underwear, I thought he might do better in some underwear he loved and wouldn't want to get them messy. A few days ago I had him in some underwear and he did really well for the first half of the day. He peed in the potty 4 times which is a new record. Today didn't go so well. First he came to me half naked. I asked him if he pee-peed in the potty and he said "No, in the room." I found his wet pants and underwear in the floor, gave him a little speech about asking for help, then put on a fresh pair of Spiderman underwear. About an hour later he came to me and said he needed to poo-poo. Which told me that the he already did....in his new underwear. I thought it would be an easy clean up but I was way wrong. I won't go into detail but I decided at that moment he could wear diapers forever! I left to go get him a diaper and came back to find him in the bathroom saying "Mama, I pottied in the bathtub!" And yes, he did. I have no idea what compelled him to stand naked in an empty bathtub and pee when the toilet was right there. So, I cleaned it up and gave him another speech about only going in the potty. I guess he really wanted those M&M's and Skittles (his rewards) so he then sat on the potty...forever. He kept saying that he went and I would check and there was no pee in there. So, right in front of me he turns around and spits in the potty and says "Look! I pottied. M&M's and Skittles please." Of course he didn't get any but it sure was hard not to crack up. Mondo said I should of given him the candy for being so smart! I've decided potty training can go on hold for a while. It's too much work!

Caitlin is Here!

Hailey's first look at Caitlin on Papa's phone.

Hmmmm...not too sure about the new sister.

Look at that pouty lip.

Wrapped in a Nana blanket.

Sleeping....for now. :-)

Caitlin Marie Weatherford arrived on October 22nd by C-Section at 10:49pm weighing 8 lbs 2 oz. Hailey wasn't too sure about her when they first met but I'm sure they will be best buds growing up since they're so close together. Hailey has been enjoying some time with Nana and Papa while Nicole and Jeff are at the hospital with Caitlin. They should come home tomorrow (the 25th). Nicole got to celebrate her birthday in the hospital on the 23rd. Both are doing well and I can't wait to hold her! I was there the night she was born but left as soon as I caught a peek of her. It was 11:30pm and I had to be up at 5:30am for work. I was a little tired but it was worth it.

Ann's Wedding Reception

Ann and Blake cutting the cake. The bottom layer was a giant rice crispy treat!

The reception hall. That's the chocolate bar in the back.

Madilyn and Morgan looking beautiful...and old!

Last Saturday (the 20th) was my sister's wedding reception. She was actually married a couple of months ago in Vegas. The reception was in Granbury on the town square. A good time was had by all (some more than others!). I ended up having to take some Brethine by the end of the night. I guess Caleb wanted to come out and join in the fun. I really enjoyed the chocolate bar...since I couldn't partake of the other bar :-). Mondo and I stayed the night in Granbury while Ethan was at home with Momo. We had brunch at a mexican food place the next morning and then went home. It was a nice little mini vacation but boy were we tired...and guess who wouldn't take a nap! The little turkey.

32 Week Dr. Appt.

Dr. Hernandez

Today was my regular Dr. appointment. Everything with Caleb is fine. He is growing right on target and his heartbeat is good. I've officially gained the total amount of weight I gained when I was pregnant with Ethan...and I'm not done gaining yet....ugh. I asked her about the contraction saga. I asked if she thought I was trying to start preterm labor or if this was just a second baby thing. She said she didn't think I was trying to go into labor. She said she sees lots of contractions with second babies. She gave me a prescription for oral Brethine to take if I start contraction a lot again. That will save me a trip to the hospital...unless it is real labor then the Brethine won't work. So that makes me feel better. Hopefully I won't even have to take it. I'll keep you updated.....

Hospital Visit...Again

So, Caleb is being a little turkey and really wants to come out. I woke up with cramping today that turned into very frequent contractions...some as close as 1-3 minutes apart. They were not horribly painful but were strong and had some moderate cramping. I drank lots of water and laid around but they continued off and on throughout the day. Finally around 7:30pm I decided I should probably go get checked out. I was not dilated but my cervix was "soft". The nurse said that I will probably have a quick labor with this one. That's exciting and a little scary! She also collected a fetal fibronectin sample. It checks for a protein that is released when your body is going to go into labor. It predicts that you will go into labor in the next 2 weeks. It's not 100% though. Mine was negative so that was good. I was contracting every 3-6 minutes while I was there so I got a shot of Brethine to stop them. It is actually used for asthma but it has been shown to relax the uterus. It made me jittery and made my heart beat speed up...and then Caleb started flipping around like crazy! The nurse said it has a lot of sugar in it so it gave him a little jolt. The contractions stopped after a few minutes. I got the speech of taking it easy, drink lots of water, and come back if the contractions start up again or if I start leaking anything. So, I'm now at home and not jittery anymore. Hopefully I can stay out of the hospital until it is the right time for him to come!

30 Weeks

I finally took a 30 week picture. It was hard to find the time since I never dress up anymore! Hmmm...they say the camera adds 10 pounds....and the shirt has horizontal stripes....that must be why I'm looking like large Marge! And I still have 9-10 weeks more to go. I may be in trouble...

A Long One

This is from the latest sono.

This is the color version of the one on the last blog.

Color version of Caleb sleeping.

Ethan's favorite pastime...playing soccer in the dining room.

He can kick pretty high!

I guess I'll start with my Dr. appointment. I saw Dr. Dickey for the first time...loved him. Funny, last time I refused to see anyone but Dr. Finke but now I'm seeing them all since I didn't even see Dr. Finke the entire time I was in the hospital with Ethan. Anyway, he measured me and heard the heartbeat and said everything looked good with Caleb. He said my gestational diabetes test was good but I was borderline anemic. My hematocrit level was 35 (the normal range is 34-44). He said it was "acceptable" but he seemed a little concerned and said they might re-check it at the next appointment. Maybe that's one of the reasons I'm so tired all the time! I also had a re-do of my 3D sono. The first one went way better. This time he had his back to the camera so I spent the first 20 minutes trying to get him to flip around. Then he had his hand over his face. He moved that out of the way then the umbilical cord started floating across his face. I got a few pics but the first time around was definitely better.

As for Ethan, he's all better from his illness. It turns out that it wasn't strep. On day 7 of the antibiotics he got a bad rash from head to toe, got sent home from preschool, and had to go to the doctor. It turns out that he is allergic to Amoxicillin. We were wondering if he was allergic the last time he was on it but now we know for sure. I'm just glad he is better and I don't have to give him meds all the time!

I turned 30 weeks today and am freaking out that I have done nothing to get ready for this new baby! I registered at Babies R Us this week and will try to register at Target soon. Maybe I can do it online. I finally ordered Caleb's bedding from Pottery Barn Kids today. Hopefully it will be in by the end of next week. I cleaned out the nursery tonight and removed all of Ethan's old nursery stuff off of the walls. It's so empty in there. It kind of made me sad seeing all of his baby stuff finally gone. My baby's all grown up!
