Hospital Visit...Again
So, Caleb is being a little turkey and really wants to come out. I woke up with cramping today that turned into very frequent contractions...some as close as 1-3 minutes apart. They were not horribly painful but were strong and had some moderate cramping. I drank lots of water and laid around but they continued off and on throughout the day. Finally around 7:30pm I decided I should probably go get checked out. I was not dilated but my cervix was "soft". The nurse said that I will probably have a quick labor with this one. That's exciting and a little scary! She also collected a fetal fibronectin sample. It checks for a protein that is released when your body is going to go into labor. It predicts that you will go into labor in the next 2 weeks. It's not 100% though. Mine was negative so that was good. I was contracting every 3-6 minutes while I was there so I got a shot of Brethine to stop them. It is actually used for asthma but it has been shown to relax the uterus. It made me jittery and made my heart beat speed up...and then Caleb started flipping around like crazy! The nurse said it has a lot of sugar in it so it gave him a little jolt. The contractions stopped after a few minutes. I got the speech of taking it easy, drink lots of water, and come back if the contractions start up again or if I start leaking anything. So, I'm now at home and not jittery anymore. Hopefully I can stay out of the hospital until it is the right time for him to come!

Sounds to me like you need to really TAKE IT EASY!!! We don't need Caleb coming to early... Take care of yourself and take it easy!! I know that's easier said then done, but you have to do it. You don't want the doc to put you on bedrest and MAKE you take it easy, now do you? :)
Yeah it would be really cool if hew was born on or around my birthday. Regardless of when he will come out it is really irrelevant, what matters is that he comes out and everything goes well. I cant wait to see him. I am so excited!!!
