"Spidaman" and Potty Training Fun

This is him being "Spidaman" (that what he calls him). He has his new underwear on underneath.

Chocolate chip cookie batter that he helped make...and eat.

Driving the car in the Target parking lot. This was after he threw up from a coughing fit right when we got there. Mondo went in and did the fastest shopping trip ever (15 minutes) while I stayed in the car with Ethan since he had throw up on his clothes and shoes.

Ethan has somehow gotten into Spiderman. He's never watched it but every time he sees it he freaks out. We bought him some Spiderman pj's and underwear. Everytime he wears them he says "I'm Spidaman. I climb the wall!" He then proceeds to attempt to climb whatever wall he is near and seems suprised that he doesn't get anywhere. As for the underwear, I thought he might do better in some underwear he loved and wouldn't want to get them messy. A few days ago I had him in some underwear and he did really well for the first half of the day. He peed in the potty 4 times which is a new record. Today didn't go so well. First he came to me half naked. I asked him if he pee-peed in the potty and he said "No, in the room." I found his wet pants and underwear in the floor, gave him a little speech about asking for help, then put on a fresh pair of Spiderman underwear. About an hour later he came to me and said he needed to poo-poo. Which told me that the he already did....in his new underwear. I thought it would be an easy clean up but I was way wrong. I won't go into detail but I decided at that moment he could wear diapers forever! I left to go get him a diaper and came back to find him in the bathroom saying "Mama, I pottied in the bathtub!" And yes, he did. I have no idea what compelled him to stand naked in an empty bathtub and pee when the toilet was right there. So, I cleaned it up and gave him another speech about only going in the potty. I guess he really wanted those M&M's and Skittles (his rewards) so he then sat on the potty...forever. He kept saying that he went and I would check and there was no pee in there. So, right in front of me he turns around and spits in the potty and says "Look! I pottied. M&M's and Skittles please." Of course he didn't get any but it sure was hard not to crack up. Mondo said I should of given him the candy for being so smart! I've decided potty training can go on hold for a while. It's too much work!

Oh my goodness!! What fun for the pregnant mommy! Are you still getting sick btw? If that was me when I was pregnant, smells would have gotten me, LOL!
I'd have to agree with Mondo, he is a smart guy- I probably would have given in just because he was so smart, but I agree with you because you have to stick to the "rules". Sorry you had to clean that up... makes me NOT look forward to teaching Hailey. Although I think she is teaching herself in some ways already.

Oh potty training! We're finally trained...there is the occasional accident though. It's a long and frustrating road. There are some really cute books out there for kids that Ethan might enjoy. I found several from Barnes and Noble. Good luck. I know it's hard while you're pregnant!

Oh poor Wendy! Jana went through the same thing with Ashlyn about a month ago with the poo in the panties. It's disgusting! I had to help her clean it up and I know it's no easy task. Ashlyn is still trying to get trained! They do it when they are ready,I guess. Good luck!
