Caleb's 9th Birthday

For Caleb's 9th birthday he wanted to go to Dave and Buster's. He chose a few close friends and we went during the day before it got too crazy. They had a great time and it was much easier to keep up with a small group of kids!

I just followed him around and watched him play games with his friends.

Then we had a little present opening time.

His pals: Carson, Sydney, and Maddie. They're all the same age but all so different in size!

His best bud Carson.

Later that night we met up with the parents at a burger place and had cake. I'd say he had a pretty good day!

His Minecraft cake I made him. And look at how it matches the table!

It's never a question of where he wants to go for bday lunch on Sunday...Olive Garden! I can't complain about that! :-)

Then Nana made him a cake so he could "celebrate" at home with them.

Man, what a great birthday week!

Happy birthday to my big 9 year old Caleb! You are the sweetest, funniest 9 year old I know. You can slow down time now and stop growing for a while! My tiny baby is getting too big! :-( You love playing Minecraft on the Xbox, telling jokes, taking care of people, playing outside, and you have a GREAT imagination! We love you!

Water Gardens

The boys love to go to the Water Gardens in Ft. Worth. Mondo took them there on weekend when I was working and they've been looking forward to having me go with them. It was a little freaky and cool at the same time. It was a great little family outing!

Mondo and I braved the steps down. It's actually pretty treacherous!

The whole area is filled with stairs and places to climb.

My boys get so tired of family photos...but I don't. :-)

They pretty much gave me a heart attack the whole time. They were running and climbing on everything! Yikes!

Whew, we made it out alive!

Random Pics

Mondo and I went on Caleb's field trip to the Planetarium at the Ft. Worth Children's Museum. He was super excited to have both of us there!

My silly Ethan hanging out at the golf course.

My babies got baptized at our new church! So proud!!

Ethan sporting his new FWC football playoff shift.

Celebrating the Nov/Dec birthdays! My nephew Blaine, niece Madilyn, and of course Caleb.

We put Ethan to work and he helped Papa fix a whole in his shed.
Then he painted it!

Chopping up some fire wood in Nana's backyard.

Thanksgiving family photo.

Most of the boy cousins. Little stair steps!

They pretty much stayed on the trampoline the whole time.

Spending some quality time with Nana while we're living there. :-)

Grandparent's Dat at FWC

I was happy that my parents were able to attend their first grandparent's day at Ft. Worth Christian. I was super impressed that they woke up extremely early so that we could all go to school together...at 0710 in the morning! We didn't really know what to expect but it turned out to be quite the production! Ethan led them around to all of his classes and met all of his teachers in the middle school building. Then we headed over to the elementary building to see Caleb's classroom and meet his teacher. Then it was off to breakfast in the cafeteria sponsored by the PTA. And last but certainly not least, a HUGE production in the gym by the choir, band, orchestra, and a few small speeches by some students. Whew, what a busy fun morning!

Nana and Papa checking out the middle school.

Looking at some of his work.

Here's Caleb showing off his special projects.

Photo op with Nana and Papa.

Ethan was super nervous to play in front of so many people. The gym was packed!

They did great!
Small choir leading us in worship. Amazing singing!

That's the entire elementary singing a cute grandparent song. Caleb toward the bottom on the left.

Thanks for coming Nana and Papa!

State Fair

One of our favorite times of the year...the state fair! We usually take the kids out of school after lunch and stay till it closes. This year we had the bright idea to go on fair day...when the rest of the world is off of school to go. It was a different experience for sure. The lines for coupons and bathrooms wrapped around buildings. It was bad. We still were able to do everything we wanted but next year we will go back to going on a school day and just take them out early.

Nice little family photo.

Checking out the Food and Fiber building.

They always have to have a slice of pizza. Not really "Fair food" for me but it is for them I guess.

Fletcher's corny dog...a must.

There was a new restaurant in the middle of the fair grounds. It had a couple of these swings and Caleb was obsessed with swinging in it. It's the little things...

And can't forget the delicious tornado tators! A favorite for me and Ethan.

I think the favorite thing for the boys to do at the Fair is to get in the fancy cars. Ethan goes to all of the sports cars...

...and Caleb goes to the more practical cars.

American Ninja Warrior play area.

The boys with Big Tex!

Part of my fried Snickers. Mmmm...looks kinda gross but it's so good!

Instead of playing games and trying to win toys, we always let the boys pick out something. Ethan was pretty pumped about this Pokémon hat.

Caleb chose a poop emoji hat (of course) and a Minecraft sword.

Mondo got some type of fried jambalaya. He said it was delicious!
