July 4th

Ahh, July 4th. I always look forward to this holiday. Flags, BBQ, fireworks, swimming. Just good times. As usual, we went to my parent's house for some BBQ chicken with homemade BBQ sauce and all the trimmings...and homemade ice cream. Yum!! The kids had a great time playing together and spent most of the day in the pool. That night, Mondo and I took the kids to see fireworks at the Ballpark. I think they equally enjoyed them and were scared of them at the same time.

When did that kid get so big?? (They were dressed up for church that night...not for BBQ eating!)

That big firepit gets lit once a year for July 4th. We make authentic BBQ around here!

Are you salivating yet?

The kids feasted outside...probably a good idea with all the BBQ sauce.

We were all happy to see Aunt Lou there. Unfortunantly that's the day she wasn't feeling well and ended up in the hospital. :-(

Ethan throwing "pops" outside. We forgot to get sparklers this year...oops!

The kids watching fireworks in the back of the car. Note Ethan closing his ears. We brought a bag of popcorn but they were too enthralled in the fireworks to eat any.

Caleb kept saying "christmas lights!"

Ethan needed Daddy to hold him because the fireworks were too loud. He's really sensitive to loud noise. He closes his ears in the movie theater too.

Seriously, his ears were covered the ENTIRE time.
