Destin Beach Vacation

Ahh Destin. Our favorite vacation destination. Every year we say we're going to skip the next year and go explore another part of the US...and every year we return to Destin! We just love it there. :-)

We usually split up the drive there into 2 days but this year we decided to do it all in one. We were glad we did. And we still managed to make it with some sunlight left! This was the view from our balcony.

Can't complain about this view for coffee time every morning!
Our to dinner.

Day one of the beautiful beaches!

We would stop by the condo pool every afternoon before going up to our room. Here they are having a little snack time. What a tough life. ;-)

Having lunch on the condo balcony...then it was back to the beach for more fun!

This was the first time we went during a really rainy week. It usually rains a little off and on but we had several days of rain. We were able to push through most of the time but we weren't staying outside for this one!

Digging huge holes. Their favorite past time.

A little brotherly hug on the way down the slide together. Haha...

All cleaned up and ready for dinner at Margaritaville!

Boogie boarding!

Love this one. :-)

Ethan buried in the sand.

Helped Caleb make a little sand castle.

Me and my man soaking up some rays.

Burying his brother in the sand.

One of our favorite places to eat is at McGuire's. It's an old pub style place. It's super dark, hence the pics.

There are dollar bills stapled EVERYWHERE in the restaurant. Like seriously millions.

You're supposed to write your name on it and staple it to the wall. The kids always enjoy it. :-)

Another night we tried a restaurant called Mimmo's. It was an Italian place that got great reviews on Trip Advisor. And...it was delicious! Probably the most the kids ate for the entire trip. Definitely worth the wait.

My attempt at a jumping pic. ;-)

And some dancing.

Blast, more rain!

This time we decided to wait it out on the beach. It was actually a little chilly! Mondo and I hid under towels.

The boys didn't care...they just played in the rain.

A little ice bucket challenge by the pool.

The last night we were there we ate a place called Brotulas. It got rave reviews but we decided it was just average. The boys had fun when a "real pirate" came around and made them some balloon animals!

A turtle on his arm.

Caleb opted for a sword. I love Caleb's pirate face!

Love that guy!

Our last day at the beach we met another family and really hit it off! They were from California and come to Destin every summer and stay at our condo. We were super sad that we met them on our last day there.

Ethan spent ALL DAY learning how to sand surf. Much harder than it looks!

There was a college age guy who worked on the beach at our condo. He was super sweet to Ethan. At the end of the day he put Ethan to work and taught him how to stack the chairs and carry as many as you can at one time!

On our way back home we stopped at an awesome fish buffet place called Berry's in Mississippi. It was HUGE and had plenty of things for the boys to eat that wasn't fish. ;-)
