New House!

Building a house was never in my life plan. It was a long, LONG road but I'm glad we did it! It took about 9 months to complete with lots of decisions to make and several set backs but...we survived and now we love our house! We also survived living with my parents throughout the entire process. Really, it was kind of fun and gave the boys a lot of Nana and Papa time. :-)  Although it was crazy stressful and took FOREVER...we'd do it again...but hopefully we won't ever need to!

Day 1...the land is our's!

It took FOUR MONTHS just to get a permit from the city to start the building process. That was definitely the most infuriating part!!! Here is the foundation prep.

We had to wait a LONG time for the foundation to pour. We had several days of rain which delayed the process a week or 2. :-/

The framing was exciting to watch. Finally looked like a house!

Adding the drywall.

We stopped by the house every chance we got. It was fun to finally get to go inside!

Roofing and a back porch!

Super exciting to have the walls closed up.

Brick!! There was also a long wait to finish the brick because they ran out...and we had to wait on the stone for the front of the house.

Brick all done, now working on the sidewalk and driveway!

Landscaping done.

Finally....it's DONE!!

My favorite place...the kitchen!

LOVE my island.

Mondo's baby...the frameless glass shower.

Closing day was oh so stressful! Closing got pushed back a week due to not passing the final inspection over something trivial. :-<  Then on closing day we had to wait literally until the last minute to find out if the inspector would let us close. Mondo and I sat outside of the title place in our car waiting for a text. We were SO RELIEVED when we heard it passed and we could close!

Move in day!!
Caleb was excited to have his own room again.

Our furniture was still in storage until the next day so that first night we made a pallate! It was an adventure but we were SO READY to have our own space again!

Love, LOVE living on a cul-de-sac!

Backyard. Definitely smaller than our last house but they kids always play in the front yard so the backyard had now become a hangout for Mondo and I. :-)

Camp Thurman

The boys look forward to Camp Thurman every year and this year was no exception! This was the first year that Ethan was too old for day camp so he had to go to evening camp. It really was better because it wasn't hot for as long since some of it is in the dark. It did make for some late nights though. Dropped him off at 3 and picked him up at 930. So by the time he got home and showered he wouldn't be in bed until almost 11.

Getting ready for some zip lining!

They did a play on the last night. That's Ethan in the kiddie pool and Colton in the chair. Ethan was supposed to be a "bad camper".

He got a trashcan full of nasty, leafy water dumped on him. Oh, and this was right before I picked him up! As soon as he got in the car he said, "I can't wait to take a shower!"

Summer Fun!

When it's summer in Texas, you have to be in the water!

Pool party at Rolling Hills.

Ethan went to Jelly Stone water park with some school friends for a bday party. Momma had to cut the cord a little bit for that one.

He was OBSESSED with making giant water balloons at Nana's pool.

Lunch at Chan's...another favorite. Also known as "the noodle place".

Carson stayed the night one night.

Ethan's heaven...the skate park.

Misc Pics

You will notice most of my miscellaneous pictures involve hanging out at the golf course. ;-)

Date night with my man. We played a little Golden Tee.

For our 15th wedding anniversary we spent the day at Top Golf and shopping for our new house.

Then we spent the night in a hotel in Ft. Worth. Just a quick get-a-way but it was great!

Chilling with my big boy.

Caleb is becoming a great little golfer!

Caleb went to a birthday party at a paint ball place. He was super excited and I thought he would love it but...after one round he quit. He didn't enjoy getting shot with a paint ball. ;-)

Mother's Day 2017. Ethan is almost as tall as me!

Mondo and I made salsa for all of the kids teachers for teacher appreciation week. Ethan has a different teacher for every class so that was a LOT of salsa!

A little mother son bonding with some facial masks!

See...lots of golf pics!

Caleb and Maddie at Olive Garden...their favorite place!

Mondo and Ethan went to the Colonial and had a blast!

Caleb's equally favorite place...Chili's!
