Caleb's 7th Birthday

Last year we were stuck in Florida in an airport on Caleb's birthday. So this year he was excited to have a real party! He planned it himself and it was so cute to hear what he wanted to do. We invited just a few kids from school and the neighborhood. He wanted to have a petting zoo (which was the dogs and cat), a pinata, and a popcorn machine.  He had the best time with a simple little birthday party. Love that kid! :-)

He requested a Captain America and Red Skull cake with them standing on the plane thing from the movie. This was the best I could come up with from what he described. He looked at it and said, "that's not what I asked for." Little turkey...well that's what he got!

The birthday gang.

To get a good pic, you have to promise a silly one too. :-)

Strawberry cake as requested.

Every birthday should have a Minion pinata. Hilarious!

The crowd cheering everyone on.

That thing was hard to bust! We let the big boys (Ethan and Colton) take a few swings at it to get it going then let Caleb finish it off.

The present opening at kid parties is always funny to watch. The crowd of kids gets closer and closer to the birthday boy....

A birthday present in the mail from Aunt Nita. :-)

His birthday dinner was at Olive Garden...pretty much his request every year.

Ethan loves it too!

Enjoying some birthday cheesecake!

Oh my Caleb-poo. You have such a sweet spirit and are special in your own quiet way. You're so much like your momma because you don't like to be alone and you're so shy especially in new surroundings. You love to help and you are quick to share. You live off of mac and cheese, chips, pasta, and bologna sandwiches. You're still a momma's boy and I hope you always will be! Love you buddy!

Hockey Game

We took the boys to their first hockey game to see the Dallas Stars. It was a super rainy night and it was super cold inside! I've never been to a hockey game so I didn't realize how cold they keep it in there!  As usual, I think Caleb was a little more excited about eating than watching the actual game. And he didn't like the loud noise when they scored a goal. But other than that, a good time was had by all!

Rainy picture outside American Airlines Center.

Got some popcorn and he was good to go!

My attempt at a pic of the boys. Guess I needed a flash. :-/

We met up with some friends there. That's his buddy Brock.

Caleb might've played his DS for a while... ;-)

And some more food...pizza!

Halloween

Halloween was a bit of a bummer because I had to work. :-( But I was able to go to the church trunk or treat for a little while before sprinting off to work. Next year it falls on a weekend too but hopefully I can get off.

Always have to stop at Nana and Papa's for some trick or treating. The funny part is that they only turn their light on for the grandkids. ;-)

Ethan was Ash from Pokemon  and Caleb was Falcon from Marvel superheroes. Both kids picked kind of random characters but they sure were cute!

Posing with Will at the church Trunk or Treat. I think he was a zombie football player.

Caleb got some candy from some Duck Dynasty characters.

The Spartan cheerleaders showed up too! ;-)

Annnnnnd...then I went to work. :-( Mondo took the boys trick or treating around the neighborhood then went home to check out their loot!

Random Pics

The boys went to work with me to drop something off and they were super impressed that we have real police at the hospital. ;-)

My THIRTEEN year old dog Gracie climbing the baby gate to escape the laundry room.

Ya, so...Mondo went skydiving in Vegas. No big deal. NOT! I can't believe he did it and I hope it's the first and last time for him!

Silly sock day at school.

My how Squeaker has grown!

Playing in the sprinkler. One of his favorite things to do.

Ethan, my little army man.

Sports team day at school.

Baby Squeaker and big Squeaker. Doesn't even look like the same cat!

Caleb helped me assemble goody bags for his class for Halloween.

State Fair

We always love going to the State Fair! We took the boys out of school a little early and headed off to Dallas. Caleb was so excited to see Big Tex. :-)

Getting so tall!

It was a beautiful day but a little warm so the boys played in the misters.

Checking out some golf memorabilia.

Caleb wanted a pic with the statue of livery. ;-)

Nachos and a Sprite. Now that's a happy kid.

Tornado tators. A favorite for me and Ethan!

The petting zoo is always a favorite. Ethan was a little hesitant to touch the animals but Caleb was the opposite. I had to tell him to keep his hands away from their big chompers!

We checked out a diary truck.

Caleb always wants a slice of cheese pizza when we go. It's not that fabulous but I guess it's Fair food to him!

Of course Ethan had to partake too.

Their MOST favorite thing is playing in the cars! Ethan dreams of which one will be his when he gets older. I told him I didn't see a rusty old truck...which is what he's getting!

Caleb loves monster trucks!

See the little guy on stage in the green shirt? Yep, that's Ethan! He participated in a Toyota show and won some hats and cups.

Playing some games after the Toyota show for prizes.

We really enjoyed going inside one of the buildings to see canned food art.  What they put together with cans was amazing!

Fried Snickers. That's all you need to eat at the Fair. Yum!

The kids loved watching the taffy being pulled.

Mondo just had to have one of these tacos. I thought it smelled better than it tasted but he thought it was pretty tasty!
