Caleb's First Ranger Game

We love going to Ranger's games. Caleb was always to little to go. We weren't sure how he would do at a game but we'd feel guilty going with Ethan and not taking Caleb. So, we decided to try him once. He did pretty well. We ate when we first got there so that kept him pretty entertained for a while. Mondo was super dad. He walked around with him a lot and let me sit with Ethan and watch the game. Overall it was a success but I don't think he's quite ready to go again. He'd be much more content playing at Nana's house. :-)

Waiting outside while Mondo got the tickets. Ethan was ready to play ball!

I just love this picture. So angelic! He was waiting for Daddy to bring on the food!

I was amazed at how much Ethan watched the game. Every time a player stepped up to bat he wanted to know what his name was and which team he played for. He even explained a play that I missed! He probably would've sat for all the innings if we didn't have to leave with Caleb.

This is a little funny and a little scary. It's his "joker face".

LOVE this picture. Caleb thinks he is as big as Ethan.
Ethan always wants to hit on the kid field. For two tokens...two DOLLARS...someone who works there pitches a few balls to kids and lets them hit.

This statue kept him entertained for a long time while we were waiting for Ethan to bat. He climbed all over it and played peek-a-boo with me.

Happy Mother's Day to June Cleaver

A Mother's Day post wouldn't be complete without saying happy mother's day to my own mother! I am blessed to have a great mom who is also a great friend. I talk to her almost everyday. She rarely says no to watching my kids. Caleb ALWAYS wants to "go go to Nana's house!". She is the best Nana ever. She lets the kids do whatever they want at her house. Nana's house = fun! She is always in the kitchen cooking or baking. She even bakes cookies almost every Friday for my co-workers. As soon as I get to work and they see the cookie tins, they know there are cookies inside and they get excited.

I am turning out to be just like my mother. I have the same habits, same ailments, same sayings. Just today I was at my mom's and I saw a plant that she planted in a pot that my sister-in-law made for us for mother's day. Guess what plant I planted in my pot at my house? Yep, the exact same plant. Weird. At least Mondo knows what I'm going to be like when I get older!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Mother's Day

Yep. This is what my photo ops look like now. Caleb screaming that he doesn't want his picture taken and Ethan being silly.
I slept through the first half of Mother's Day then went to lunch at my mom's house. After that it was time for another nap, then off to church. It was a nice, relaxing day spent with my boys.
I woke up to find some flowers and a card signed by the kiddos.

This was a cute present that Ethan made at school. He put his thumb prints all over the paper then his teacher made pictures out of it. Pretty clever.

As if I didn't have enough guilt about cleaning all the time and not playing with my kids, Ethan has to fill out this paper that says I spend most of my time cleaning...he even says it's my hobby! Of course, I don't know how much I can trust what he says since he said I'm 15 and have red eyes. :-)

Um...we're working on the handwriting. I think he told me it says "I love mom" and his name is in there somewhere. Oh, and that is a drawing of me.

My Near Death Experience

Ok, so maybe I wasn't quite near death. But I could've been! I was driving down 360 on Thursday to pick up Ethan from school and I saw that tornado! I wasn't smart enough to take a picture of it but lucky for me, some others were. I was really far away from it so I actually didn't freak out.

I think God chose me out of all of my family members to see this tornado to tell me to quit having panic attacks over them! If any of you knew me growing up, then you know that I have a crazy, possibly irrational, fear of tornados. My parents have a little door cut out in the bottom of their closet that allows you to crawl under the house and fix the pipes...or escape the certain death of a tornado. Anytime there was bad weather, sirens or not, I was under the house with my dogs, teddy bear (yes, even in high school), and blankets shaking to death until all was clear. My mom even gave me a Xanax once because I couldn't get a grip and was really starting to lose it.

I have had MULTIPLE dreams about running/hiding from tornados. I might even have them weekly. But you know what? I am ALWAYS safe at the end of the dream. Never a scratch on me. All of this is to say that I think God wanted to show me this tornado to tell me not to be afraid but to be in awe of what he can do. I will admit, it was a little neat to see....but it's ok if I never see one again. :-)

Randomness

Here are a bunch of random pics in no particular order:

Couldn't find the boys one day and forgot that I had locked them up...just kidding. ;-)

Hmmm...what's wrong with this picture?

A self portrait by Ethan...cracks me up!

Caleb's "cheese" face.
Look at Tarzan up in that tree! Daddy may have helped him.

Brotherly love.

Someone has a new found love for Sonic.

What a life.

My handsome boy at a school program.

Being Batman.

Note the Toy Story guys in his hands. He has a little obsession.

My tiny baby isn't so tiny anymore. :-(

Showing me his ears.

That was Ethan's shirt.

Ethan being silly? Never!

The boys "napping" together.

Tea Time!

Mondo's best friend Scott is getting married in August. A few weeks ago his mom hosted a tea party (mainly for the kids) so that Scott's family could meet Izabela. Ethan LOVES Scott and Izabela so he was super excited to spend the afternoon with them.

He was stuck like glue to Izabela's side. So cute!

Caleb was trying to get away. Not sure what this pose is!

Scott asked Ethan to be the ring bearer. He is so excited! He keeps asking when the wedding is. Mondo is the best man and I am a bridesmaid. Caleb can be an honarary ring bearer. Could you imagine him being still at the front of the church for longer than 5 seconds? Yikes!

Putting sugar cubes in his tea.

I was shocked he actually tried it! I'm not a fan of hot tea with milk and sugar. The Hernandez clan loves coffee...all four of us. ;-)

Caleb tried a little of everything. He only had a sip of tea too. I was so afraid he was going to break the cup!

Definitely Mondo's kid...always cleaning his hands!

They snacked on cheese, crackers, fruit, and cake. Very cute.

Happy VERY BELATED to Mondo!

No, I didn't forget to blog about my sweet husband's birthday! I was waiting to finish his birthday present and get a picture of it. Here it is!

After Mondo ran the half marathon at White Rock he really wanted to order a picture from it. We talked about it and decided they were too pricey for a little picture so we decided not to get one. Well, I was really proud of him for completing the marathon and I knew he really wanted a picture. That's when I got the idea to frame all of the memoribilia from the marathon. I ordered a picture and had it sent to my parent's house...months before his birthday.

The week before his birthday I took the picture from my parent's and started snooping in his closet for the medal and bib number. I found the bib...but no medal. I asked him where his medal was and he said he had it hanging at work. Darn! My big suprise was foiled. So I put the picture and bib in the shadow box and gave it to him for his birthday. He brought the medal home a few days later and I completed the present. He loved it!
